„Local and International Trends in Hospitality and Gastronomy”
International Symposium
Kodolányi János University, in cooperation with Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics, organises an international symposium on “Local and International Trends in Hospitality and Gastronomy” that will take place on 9th October 2018 in Budapest. The aim of the event is to explore and deepen the analysis of issues and challenges related to hospitality management and gastronomy as success factors in tourism development. In addition to a roundtable discussion on “Trends of the hospitality industry of Hungary and Russia” with the participation of Hungarian and Russian educators and practitioners, the symposium will include research and case study presentations. We invite proposals for presentations addressing themes related to hospitality, gastronomy and tourism including, but not limited to, the following topics:
• Current and future trends in tourism, hospitality and gastronomy
• Responsible hospitality management
• Use of ICT in the hospitality sector
• Sustainability in gastronomy tourism
• International food cultures
• Gastronomy and authenticity
• Gastronomic identity of tourist destinations
• Gastronomy as a tourist product
• Gastronomy in image, attractiveness, branding, marketing, and strategic management of destinations
• Gastronomy and tourist experiences
• Supply chains in hospitality management
• Innovation and creativity in hospitality and gastronomy
• Hospitality and tourism education
• Human resource issues in food and beverage management;
• Health and safety issues in gastronomy tourism;
• Methodological issues in tourism and hospitality research
• Case studies
If you would like to present, submit a proposal to turizmustanszek@kodolanyi.hu by 1st October 2018 with the following information:
• Title of presentation
• Authors’ names and contact information
• Short abstract (max. 250 words)
• 3-5 keywords
The language of the symposium is English, participation is free. The organisers plan to publish the proceedings with ISBN in electronic format.
